Pilgrim ponderings

  • When is the Shrine Open?
The Shrine is open by appointment only. Regular hours will be established again in April of 2022. Sorry for the inconvenience. Every last Saturday of the Month a liturgy is held at 4 p.m. and is open to all.
  • Is the Shrine Open Year Round?
No, due to the inclimate weather the Shrine will be closed from the week after Thanksgiving until the first week of March. You can contact the Shrine if you want to request an appointment for a visit during those times.
  • Are there Public Restrooms at the Shrine?
Yes! There is a public handicap accessable bathroom on the first floor of the Shrine's Bell Tower.
  • How long do I need to set aside for a visit?
A guided tour of the Shrine takes roughly 45 minutes. Or you can just roam the property at your leisure.
  • Do I have to be a church member to visit?
No, Anyone can come visit the Shrine and the amazing grounds.
  • Why isn't the sabbath recognized by the Catholic Church?
We believe Jesus the Christ was both human and divine. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, he was crucified, died and rose from the dead on the third day--which is Sunday. He in His incarnation, death and resurrection fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies. We celebrate His resurrection on the First day of the week just as the apostles taught and celebrated after the resurrection of Our Lord!
