Experience the Poustinia
Let God speak to your heart
Poustinia means “desert.”
Sometimes God draws us to a “deserted place” (Mk 6:31), free of distractions, because He wants to be with us and speak to our hearts. This kind of “desert” is open and free to God's love.
“I will lead [Israel] into the desert and speak to her heart” (Hosea 2:14).
Our Poustinia is a beautiful and simple cabin designed for peace, solitude, and prayer — designed completely for God to speak to your heart.

Traveling to the Shrine
The Shrine is located at 8100 feet high above Tucson, Arizona in the Catalina Mountains.
It's not just a Shrine, it's an experience with amazing 7 changes in biomes, vistas rock formations, and wildlife as you drive up the 25 mile scenic "Sky Island Scenic Byway".
As you ascend the mountain you will find bathroom breaks at middle bear campgrounds (milepost 11.4) , Windy Point (halfway point), and Palisades (milepost 19.9).
Once on top you can opt to stay overnight at the Mount Lemmon Hotel (and coming soon the Mount Lemmon Lodge) as well as enjoy the Ski Lodge, University of Arizona Sky Center, a variety of restaurants and of course our General Store. And of course, enjoy all the trails!
